June.05.08
Atlanta, GA (June 5, 2008) – SED International, Inc., a leading wholesale distributor of computer, consumer electronics, and cellular products announced today the kickoff of SED Goes Green, a campaign focused on improving the environment and reducing power consumption.
"We felt it was beneficial to formalize a program around our green initiatives," said Jonathan Elster, Executive Vice President for SED International. "This adds focus to something that is very important to us. There are also some great things our vendor partners are doing that we want to recognize with more exposure."
SED Goes Green encompasses initiatives within four categories: Office, Shipping, Printing, and Products. Office initiatives relate to things done in and around SED locations around the world, such as increased recycling and the use of high-efficiency lighting. Shipping initiatives are highlighted by environmentally friendly paper cushioning used in SED packed boxes. Printing initiatives are centered around marketing materials printed on FSC certified recycled paper. Product initiatives involve highlighting products and manufacturers that feature green technologies.
SED will be communicating details about what it and its vendor partner are doing to help the environment beginning in June, with updated details available on its website at www.sedonline.com/green.
